From the farm

La Ferme Buissonnière raises chickens outdoors and produces homemade jams using fruits such as rhubarb, redcurrants, raspberries, blackcurrants and blackberries from the garden. The farm also produces eggs and other seasonal products.

The Chickens

Small farm opposite the Chartreuse monastery since 2019. We raise broiler chickens . The chicks are raised outdoors on the farm and have not received any antibiotic treatment . They are grain -fed . We use only natural plant- or mineral-based products for animal care . Slaughtering also takes place on the farm, so the animals are not transported. The chickens are between 3 and 5 months old at slaughter.

The Quails

We offer quail raised from eggs that we hatch on the farm, alternating with chick hatchings. The quail live in open aviaries located outdoors. The last hatchings take place in October and resume in March to avoid the harshest cold weather. Fed with local grain, they are slaughtered between 2 and 3 months of age.

The ducks

Raised outdoors from day-old ducklings and fed on cracked corn, they are 3 to 4 months old at slaughter. The male ducks weigh approximately 4 kg and the female ducks 2.5 kg.

The eggs

The eggs are produced by our hens. We have about thirty hens that we keep. They are fed grain (triticale, corn, wheat). We also give them crushed eggshells to help produce eggs with strong shells. For their well-being, the hens are treated against parasites (red mites, intestinal worms) using only mineral or plant-based products. Therefore, the eggs contain NO ANTIBIOTICS. During the day, they have access to the outdoors and roam freely in the neighboring meadow.

Jams

The garden provides us with rhubarb, redcurrants, raspberries, blackcurrants, and blackberries, which we turn into jam. I don't use any chemicals in the garden. The soil is enriched with manure from our rabbits and chickens, and compost. The jams are made with sugar from organic farming.
